Life on a small Vermont farm.
Equal parts mud, chaos, and story.
Gold Shaw Farm is a 160-acre property in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. Once a vacant dairy farm, it has slowly been reshaped into a diversified small farm operation where animals, trees, and people all share the work.
The farm raises geese, ducks, and chickens for eggs, meat, and breeding stock. A herd of Scottish Highland cattle grazes the pastures in rotation, building soil as they move. Barn cats keep the feed bins honest, and a pair of livestock guardian dogs patrol the boundaries each night. Our goats add a necessary dash of chaos to our lives. Smaller ventures—soap, dried catnip, pumpkin seeds, and tree crops—round out the mix, each tied to a particular season.
Gold Shaw Farm is also a place of stories. The daily work of farming is documented in videos, words and pictures. We try to offer a candid picture of the triumphs and failures of life on the land.
We love to hear from you about what you're cooking and how you're doing. However, please be advised that Morgan is horrible at email.
